OCD in the funnies

Dagwood only wears that to work. His weekend clothes are elsewhere. Are five pairs of the same shoes really necessary? Unless he plans on running an ultra-marathon in that get up and the shoes go up a half size I think one pair of shoes would be sufficient. Given Dagwood's other quirks I guess owning several pairs of the same style of shoes seems comparatively harmless.

I wonder about the extent of Dagwood's work clothing neuroses. Does Dagwood pitch a fit if the Monday shoes are placed under the Tuesday suit?

Dagwood: Blondie, the Wednesday bow tie is on the the Friday shirt!
Blondie: Dagwood, they are all the same.
Dagwood: No, they are not! You just refuse to see the differences! How many times do I have to show you? The Wednesday bow tie is a slightly lighter shade of red. And --- oh no! --- the Thursday pants are with Tuesday jacket! AHHHH!!!!!

Obsessive Compulsive Disorder explains so much about Dagwood. The chronic tardiness, sleepiness, and the long baths. Blondie is a saint to be able to live with Dagwood for 75 years.

The History Channel has moved away from all Nazis, all the time. I think everyone has gotten the point about the Nazis - they were evil. That is the point of every Nazi documentary.

Now the History Channel is all dangerous jobs that kind of suck but pay pretty damn well. Deadliest Catch, Axe Men, and Ice Road Truckers. A show about how tough it is to live and work in Alaska will premier soon. Eventually the History Channel will take this to its logical conclusion - a show about the camera operators who film these people doing the dangerous, kind of sucky, well-compensated jobs. Call it Camera Men!

I will expect fair compensation and executive producer credit if this show ever becomes reality. I know a special has been done about camera operators in dangerous places but never an entire show. The whole thing will stretch to infinity until Discovery Networks collapses into itself.

At least I have an idea for a cartoon.

Walking meditation

As long is Monty is mindful his walking meditation is just fine. I could live in a community based upon Ballard Street.

What are the ingredients of "Beetleloaf"?

Dagwood Bumstead distills the essence of the comics page in today's newspapers.

Can Mary perform an actual act of kindness? An act that really puts herself on the line?

No, Mary will only increase this woman's suffering with platitudes and meddling and pretend it is kindness. Mary Worth would not recognize true kindness even if the Dalai Lama himself gave her instruction.

The Santa Royale hospice has a picture of Mary Worth in its office with instructions to get her away from the clients by any means possible.

Several Weeks Later...

Damn, that brick throwing lady has a great arm! A south paw no less.

I see that even Karen Moy got bored with the Dawn - Dr. Drew Corey lunch conversation or sex occurred and we were spared images of... Oh Gawd, I just imagined... I need photos of kittens now! Okay, deep breath - pay attention to the breath - do not imagine Drew Corey and Dawn in awkwardly rendered coitus while having long thought balloon soliloquies. Pay attention to the breath and go look at the kittens. Dawn would be top or she might like to - stop that train of thought, now! KITTENS, KITTENS, KITTENS!

A poster at the Comics Curmudgeon correctly predicted that any horseback riding action would take place off panel.
I find drawings of flattened animals funny. It's a sickness.
The Chronicle's abbreviation for They'll Do It Every Time - TDIE. Given Al Scaduto's 1950's sensibilities I have to wonder who the extra woman is. Ol' Ragweed, a polygamist?

Girl Fight!

Now, I want to see where this ride ends. Ruthie has gone beyond childhood imagination and has lost her grip on reality.

Popeye likes to watch women fight. Tomorrow he will ask the trench coat guy to turn on the sprinklers. To continue the insanity Sweet and Olive need to break out into a Bollywood style musical number instead of a fight.

I choose my cell phones based on the camera rather than on the main function. I'm still learning how to discreetly take photos of fat chicks with tramp stamps.

I wonder about the Bumstead's closet arrangements. Did Dagwood choose the pants while sleep walking?

Wendy, the word you are looking for is moron.
Lola needs to get rid of the black sweater because it shortens her arms.
Red wine goes with beige unidentifiable chunks while beer goes with light yellow and green unidentifiable chunks. Dawn's hair - organic material or sheet metal?

Surrealism in mundane places

I expanded my selection of Chron.com comics. It also fixed the 9 Chickweed Lane glitch.

Harriet's attempt to put Stanley in the mood frightens him. It scares me and I'm in a 3D reality. Stanley would rather watch TV than attempt to play the game and I suspect the prizes are not all that great.
Several neurons screamed in agony while attempting to parse this Blondie strip
Why does this Heathcliff comic look like elements were pulled from a hat or generated by a computer? The surrealism seems a bit forced.
Witness Ruthie's descent into madness
This comic would have worked better with an anthropomorphic pig. Might as well draw what people who see this comic strip are thinking.

A list of known Plugger species: Dog, Bear, Rhino, Chicken, Kangaroo
