The context for this cartoon:

I try to be UU Gallant but sometimes, unintentionally, I behave like UU Goofus.

I might try a hidden chalices drawing sometime.

Robin Edgar said...: I suppose such Goofuses may exist but I think that it is fair to say that all too often suggestions for various improvements etc. are made to Worship Committees and other committees and are ignored and/or rejected by the committee in question. Another thing that can and does happen is that a committee will be more than open to suggestions only to have the church Board over-rule them. Let's face it there are no shortage of "Goofuses" on church committees and church boards to say nothing of those "Goofuses" serving as U*U ministers or working for the UUA. Hopefully the recent staff cuts at the UUA will weed out some of the "Goofuses". God forbid that competent and decent people are let go while UUA "Googfuses" remain. . .; 1:58 PM
