Walked 6,659 steps.

Nothing church related has gone smoothly for me. Still working on the computer. Anyone know how to re-enable a disabled video adapter? I will attempt to follow Dell's online instructions to reset to factory settings.

I tried to print labels for the church newsletter but the online database is not acting right. I found a work around. It will be a bit long but will result in some labels.

It will get better. No need to take it too seriously, it's just church.

Maybe I was going crazy on Tuesday.

Google brought me something good in the mail.

Did you figure the computer out? Maybe I can help, or at least I can patiently listen to you whine about it... I administer 3 PC and 4 Macintosh computers in my so-called spare time...

So, explain to me why you are going to run 22 miles..?

No I haven't figured the computer out yet. I'm going to attempt to re-install Windows XP in the hopes that will solve the problem. The video works but not in Windows. If not, then it is up to Dell Tech Support or Geek Squad.

As to why I'm going to run 22 miles - so I will be strong enough to run 26.2 miles in February. No, it is not a sensible explanation but it is the only one I've got aside from simple insanity.

Reinstalling XP should, well, fix...

Especially if you can download and have on disk the needed drivers and softwares, especially if you have to do a clean install...

Still, ick... What a chore... I do hope it works...

Don't forget to install the patches from the MS Update site, this has been my mantra this week, especially after I got hit by the WMF Bug.

I have very good AV software, so it did not break my defences, but it tried, no less than 12 times in about 6 seconds, and I was loading a page I have visited a hundred times before.

My only conclusion is that the webmaster had an ad that was contaminated without their knowledge... So as careful as I was being, having been made aware of the big and deliberately avoiding any unusual surfing while I was awaiting the patch, I still ran into trouble...

Oops, I just went all geek, sorry...

I am hmm, in the Metric system, is 26.2 miles a Marathon?

26.2 miles is a marathon. Using a handy calculator that translates to 42.1648128 kilometers.

Wow, I am impressed... But then I am not at all a runner, never have been unless wild dogs are chasing me or something...

I can and have biked 42.1648128 km, hiked it, ice skated it, skied it, too. I will be doing a 50 km ice marathon this winter, but ice skating is very, very different from running...

Not anywhere nearly as demanding or tiring or anything even remotelly like it.

So long as my general fitness is excellent and my skates are sharp, and I am dressed right, no problems and I won't be dead at the end or the next day...

I think however that I would probably just drop dead after running 4.1648128 km. Or maybe I would simply lie down and play dead.

I've just never been a runner, as sporty as I can be...

Where will this Marathon be?

This marathon will be on February 19 in Austin, TX. Fortunately it is all downhill. Austin is located in the Texas Hill Country.

It looks like the XP reinstall worked. Now, I have to take the computer to church and see if it will talk to the DSL.
