Dead Battery and numbers
The battery on my pedometer died. Now I must walk without knowing how many steps I took. Can I live without that information? I can live without it until I can make it to the store and purchase a new battery. A small portion of my life is devoted to keeping track of numbers; weight, miles ran, miles walked, steps taken, calories burned, cartoons drawn, pieces of clip art produced. I rarely pay attention to the important numbers; bank balance, debt, costs, calories consumed, paycheck amount, gas mileage. Trivial matters rule my life.
